Morning? 11AM? You whippersnappers don't know how lucky you are!!

11AM: Too early to call afternoon, too late to call morning. It's in it's own time zone. :P
FWIW, I was up at 8AM but didn't have time to post a morning post.

Lose that tail-spoiler! Otherwise great car/picture!

What's wrong with the whale tail??

Nothing. When it's on a Turbo.

On the Carrera 3.2 and 911SC, it was an option so it's not like it's an aftermarket thing. Especially wide-body Carreras.

As a 3.2 owner I know this. But I still wouldn't want one on my 911, unless it's a real Turbo. The non-turbo wide-body is even more ridiculous ;-)

Funny you mention that; my dad has stories of back in the 80s, when people would ask him why he didn't put a tail on his '74 coupe. Because he didn't want to pay for one and it wasn't even an option then, and that it'd hamper the originality. To be honest, I wish it had a ducktail.
Show me your 3.2! :D

Original, Grand Prix Weiss, 1987 (G50) 911 3.2 Carrera Coupe.
Only options are 16" Fuchs (instead of the standard 15"), a Gemini Alarm system and a 'Porsche Classic' navigation/radio/bluetooth-car-kit . Oh yeah, and I replaced the catalytic converter with a straight pipe. 230+ bhp on around 1150 kgs. It's awesome.
I'm with your dad when it comes to originality. At least: it should look original, my 2002 touring I'm working on is hardly original with that tii-converted engine and that E21 5-speed.

I'm in love with that car now. :)
I want to see and here this car. His car is original on the inside and was repainted about 10 years ago I think. How does the G50 feel, compared to a 915?
Does that nav system work in 944s? Also, that would perfectly replace the modern out of place unit my dad currently has.

I was completely fed up with my Fiat Dino as it always seemed to break down something after a short drive. Then the only logical thing to do is to get a not-to-cheapish Porsche. Bulletproof. Let me down once in 10 years and that was due to the aftermarket alarmsystem. G50 feels bulletproof as well. Best thing I ever bought.
Nav will work in 944, it's simply DIN1 so will fit in it's radio-bracket. So it's not a big screen you'll get but hey: it looks original!
